Our signature is the crème brûlée Vietnamese iced coffee — rich, sweet cà phê finished with a torched, caramelized sugar top that cracks like the classic dessert. You break through the crackle into cold, strong coffee cut with condensed-milk sweetness. It is the drink people photograph before they taste it.
It is also something no one else in the Twin Cities is really doing. Plenty of shops pour a good Vietnamese iced coffee; the torched crème brûlée finish is ours, and it is the first thing to order if it is your first visit.
Vietnamese coffee, five ways
Every signature coffee is $8.50, iced, and built on a Vietnamese coffee or Americano base. Beyond the crème brûlée, the Coconut Coffee leans creamy and tropical, the Tiramisu Coffee runs dark and dessert-like, the Pistachio Coffee is nutty and smooth, and the Salted Cheese Coffee tops it all with a savory-sweet cheese-cream foam.
They are strong, sweet and unapologetically Vietnamese — the kind of coffee that does not need three add-ons to taste like something.
Rooted on Eat Street
Nicollet Avenue is the Twin Cities' Vietnamese food corridor, and Wishi sits right on it — one block from Quang, in the heart of Eat Street. The coffee comes by it honestly: Wishi is the women-owned, Asian-owned rebrand of 8th Street Nourish, run by the same family that has been feeding this stretch of Whittier for years.
That heritage is the whole point. This is Vietnamese coffee made by people who grew up on it, a few doors from the restaurants that made Eat Street a destination.
